Biography
I grew up in the Louisiana Cajun country and from the time I was a small child, my free time was generally spent with crayons, scissors, paste and any materials I could bring together to form some new creation. While the materials and the content of my creations may have changed as I matured, the way in which I chose to spend my free time did not. Unfortunately for my artistic endeavors, circumstances and life somehow got in the way of my creativity, and I pursued a career in sales and management in the petrochemical and semiconductor markets. However, I was never without my sketchpad, my box of pencils or my desire to be creative.
In 1999, the company I was working for was sold and I opted out of the new organization. At that point I entered a local college to pursue a metal arts degree and began creating metal sculptures in 2000 while acquiring my degree. I worked as a metal artist creating sculptures for the general public and commissions for private collections. I participated in a number of exhibitions including the Rotunda of the State Capitol in Texas.
While photographing my metalwork for the web I became very interested in Adobe Photoshop. I purchased the complete suite of Adobe CS tools, along with a complete training series and began to train myself on the various software modules. I used the tools to create my own magazine advertisements, art opening invitations and all work associated with my web page.
I was so fascinated with digital creation I upgraded my software and enrolled in school in the fall of 2009. I acquired a degree in Interactive Multimedia in December of 2010. In December of 2011, I completed an additional degree in Graphic Arts Technology. In 2012 I continued to improve my skill sets with additional studies in Adobe After Effects, 3D modeling and rendering and digital painting techniques.
As I am no longer working as a metal artist, I have taken down the web pages featuring my metal sculptures. However, to see examples of my digital creations, you may visit my digital portfolio site by clicking on this link.
